This exercise assumes you have read Ch. 6 of the KE&M book
on reusable Template Knowledge Models. Answer the following
questions.
- Indicate for each of the application tasks listed below
the task type to which they belong. Note that a single
application task may consist of multiple task types.
- For at least three of the tasks listed below:
- Construct an annotated inference structure for
(part of) the application task, based on the
inference structure of a task type identified in
step 1 above.
- Identify domain-specific examples of the
constructs in the domain schema .for this task
type (for a few task types no schema is given:
skip these).
- Formulate a tentative judgment about the technical
feasibility of (partially) automating these application
tasks. (take a look at the second row of the Organization
Model worksheet OM-5 in Ch. 3).
Task list:
- Buying a personal computer.
- Finding and remedying disturbances in an an electrical
network of a certain region.
- Assessing whether a person is eligible for a residence
permit in a a particular city.
- Constructing a work schedule for nurses in a hospital
ward.
- Building a play house with Lego blocks.
- Find the best service strategy in an emergency situation
after a 911 call: send ambulance, send helicopter, et
cetera.
